Autoweek's Vinsetta Garage premieres Jan. 3 on Velocity Network
Thu, 15 Dec 2011The garage I'd frequent during my high school years, the one at which I sought insight, entertainment, camaraderie and escape, remains warm in my heart with memories. We have these places, you and I, where the people and things that mattered to us—my 1965 Ford Mustang notchback 289 and my buddy's 1963 Jaguar XKE—came to life. Jaguar XKR (2011MY) Review & Road Test
Fri, 12 Nov 2010A slightly mud spattered Jaguar XKR after yet another 'Brisk' country run If you choose to think about the history of Jaguar, there’s a fair chance you’ll end up thinking about the two cars that have come to epitomise all that Jaguar stood for – the 1961 Jaguar E-Type and the 1968 Jaguar XJ. But its appearance seems resolutely stuck in time, like John and Jackie Kennedy in Zapruder’s film of the Dallas motorcade, or like the fans who berated Bob Dylan for going electric. There are no design surprises: the bodysides are curvy and more crisply pressed, the rear lamps supersized, otherwise the floating roof, wraparound chrome piping and wheel-at-each corner stance are all present and correct. ‘We need to be careful,’ BMW Group design director Adrian van Hooydonk told CAR.
