College Exhibition: CCS - American Iron and Steel Institute Challenge 2004

Tue, 05 Oct 2004

Transportation Design students at Detroit's College for Creative Studies recently presented the results of a project sponsored by the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI). The unveiling of the students' concept vehicles is the finale of the 16th annual AISI/CCS Summer Internship Program that set the transportation design students the task of designing functional, innovative 'Hollywood-inspired' vehicles that integrate environmental responsibility, cost efficiency and innovative steel materials. "The AISI/CCS summer internship was created to inspire a new generation of automotive designers to develop alternative fuel vehicles, lightweight steel structures and a flexible platform base, all of which are real goals for today's automotive product developers," said Brian Aranha, vice president of commercial for Dofasco Inc.

Jaguar E-Type for sale – 12 of them

Fri, 05 Mar 2010

Three of the 12 E-Type Jags on offer from one seller on Ebay If you ask anyone what the most iconic car of the ’60s was most people  - we guess – would suggest the Jaguar E-Type. It seems to epitomise all the was impressive about the decade and – despite now being 50 years old – it still stands up as a stylish and desirable car. Not only is the E-type stylish and iconic it’s having new life breathed back in to it by companies like Eagle, who build E-Types to order from restoration projects and to a standard that surpasses the way they ever came out of British Leyland (or whatever the name of the company was that built them at the time  - there were several iterations of the BL Brand, unfortunately).

The Land Rover Defender by Vilner Anyone who has ever driven a Land Rover Defender will know that home comforts are not exactly at the top of LR’s list of priorities; spartan necessity probably best describes the interior fittings. But not after Bulgarian tuner Vilner has been to play it doesn’t. Vilner has had a commission from a Russian with a few bob burning a hole in his pocket who wanted a Land Rover Defender that was more than just a utilitarian workhorse.
