To be an artisan in aluminum or the Stradivarius of steel, you need about 40 years as an apprentice working metal with pinchers and pullers and to spend a lot of time rolling sheets back and forth through an English wheel. To make something out of fiberglass, all you need is resin. The Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles is celebrating all things fiberglass--especially the cars--with an exhibit that runs through Oct.

Alfa Romeo MiTo 2011 Range gets a tweak or three The proper Alfa nutters aren’t overly fond of the MiTo. They don’t see it as a real Alfa, perhaps because it doesn’t break down every five minutes and it’s front wheel drive. We’re slightly on the side of the FWD thing but in a small, mass market car FWD it’s the layout of choice.

The pint-sized city car is a clear nod toward the Nano production car on which it is based, but also brings with it many new stylistic features and themes that are likely to be featured on new Tatas.
