NHTSA investigates Ford Super Duty for steering problem

Federal U.S. safety officials are investigating about 340,000 copies of the 2008 Ford F-250 and F-350 Super Duty pickup trucks for a reported steering problem. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has received five complaints that an internal failure of the steering gear box results in a complete loss of steering control.

The 900hp Ford Mustang GT as seen in the latest Need for Speed movie has sold at an auction in the US for $300,000 – that’s roughly £180,000. Unfortunately, the winning bidder might be disappointed to find out that in real life it doesn’t make anywhere near the 900hp claimed in the film, instead running a stock 420hp. Ford to reveal 'post-kinetic' design in Detroit

It appears the NAIAS in Detroit will not be a complete wash in terms of new designs. Ford, for example, is poised to reveal the next phase in its global design language at the automaker's press conference on January 11th. According to J Mays, the automaker will unveil a new mid-sized vehicle which will 'be a big step in the global design DNA' for the company.
