2012 BMW 3 Series UK: New photos & video – 4WD, new engines & hybrid confirmed
Mon, 06 Feb 2012Lots of new 2012 BMW 3-Series photos BMW UK has produced a big gallery of UK specific photos for the new 2012 BMW 3-Series – and a video too – and confirmed xDrive and hybrid 3-Series for the UK. We got the reveal of the 2012 BMW 3-Series back in October, together with a decent amount of detail, a big photo gallery and video too. But as BMW UK has taken the trouble to send us a huge gallery of UK-specific photos of the new 3-Series, new UK 3-Series video and confirmed extra models, we thought the least we could was publish what they’ve sent.
Tesla guarantee future value of Model S in finance deal
Tue, 07 Oct 2014Tesla guarantee future value of Model S (pictured) in finance deal If you run a company car – and you’re comfortably off – there’s a lot to commend the Tesla Model S. But if you’re a comfortably off private buyer who doesn’t quite get the tax breaks on a car a company car driver does, Tesla still want to make you an offer you can’t refuse. Teaming up with Alphera Financial Services (which just happens to be owned by BMW), Tesla are offering an appealing deal on the Model S, and guaranteeing its future value too.
Hyundai Suicide ‘Advert’ causes a rumpus
Fri, 26 Apr 2013It’s not easy advertising your wares and finding the right balance between mainstream and innovative to capture attention, as Hyundai has found out to their cost with an ‘advert’ for the hydrogen powered ix35 FCEV which, rather distastefully, depicts a man trying to commit suicide by running a hose from the tailpipe to the cabin before realising he can’t achieve his aim as the FCEV’s only emissions are water. It’s a proper cock-up from Hyundai – usually so sure-footed with their PR – but, despite Hyundai US putting the blame at the door of Hyundai UK, there’s more to this suicide ‘advert’ than meets the eye. It seems the suicide video was put together by Innocean – a European Ad Agency owned by Hyundai’s Chairman Chung Mong-koo and his daughter, and responsible for much of Hyundai’s marketing output – and was a clumsy attempt to gauge reaction to the somewhat macabre take on the benefits of an FCEV.
