It has proven, dependable 1.6-hpmotor and 4,500-lb. rated pull, cut metal gears, and strong and durable steel spool. This winch operates in a wide range of batter charges andprovides nearly silent free spool operation. It has a 50-ft. synthetic rope for strong, reliable, tangle-free pulling, a premium-grade aluminum Hawse Fairlead, and Auto Shut-Off technology that stops the winch when the hook nears the fairlead and completes its pull. It comes with a dash-mounted remote control. An accessory shifter knob with integrated controls is available (sold separately). Color: Powder coated black housing. Study: Distracted driving deemed socially unacceptable among young drivers
Wed, 17 Apr 2013A new survey shows that young drivers think it’s socially unacceptable to drive distracted. This data is among the results of tiremaker Bridgestone Americas Inc.'s annual survey that polls more than 2,065 drivers aged 16 to 21 nationwide. Of those drivers, 80 percent said sending texts and emails is "unacceptable." But our distracted-driving epidemic isn't solved yet; 37 percent admit to still doing it.

Extreme sports safety kit to inspire Volvo technologies

The firm has announced a partnership with POC, another Swedish company, which designs lightweight, strong and high-tech safety equipment for climbers, snowboarders, mountain bikers and other extreme sports fanatics. The initial focus will be on the relationship between cars and cyclists, with the specific aim of developing a one-way method of communicating that the driver has seen the cyclist.
