IMC makes their own manual block-and-tackle pulley system.  As opposed to an imported pulley system intended to be used 2 or 3 times by hunters, IMC uses solid braided polypropylene rope which is softer, more pliable and will last a lifetime even when used hundreds of times.  The solid braided rope rolls easily on bushed (reduced friction) rollers. Complete with padded aircraft quality (6061T6) aluminum support cradle and harness assembly, specifically for the Cabriolet and Boxster hardtops, including all necessary installation hardware. The system easily installs in a 7' or higher ceiling in about 30 minutes.  Hardtops may be SUSPENDED INDEFINITELYLook for the IMC logo to be certain you've found American made quality and beware of substandard copies. The IMC system easily installs in a 7' or higher ceiling in about 30 minutes.  We do not buy poor quality imported lifting devices from an importer which sells to the consumer that we then resell to you.  All three IMC lifting devices are hand made and assembled in Kingsville Missouri. These are BRAND NEW in the original box from IMC who has been making hardtop hoists since 1978.  Each system has been designed specifically for a particular hardtop so that handling is a ONE PERSON OPERATION.  These items are shipped from Kingsville, MO.  Europeans can save on shipping by shopping at www.toplift.se . Record-setting Ferrari hydroplane heads for RM's Monaco auction

Fri, 17 Feb 2012

A record-setting Ferrari-powered 1953 hydroplane, ARNO XI, will cross the block in May at the RM Auctions event in Monaco. The hydroplane set the speed record for a boat of its size on Lake Iseo in northern Italy, running up to 150.19 mph. Designed and built by Achille Castoldi—a friend of Ferrari Grand Prix drivers Alberto Ascari and Luigi Villoresi—convinced Enzo Ferrari to provide knowledge and technical assistance to help develop the world-record-holding boat.

GMC Granite concept (w/ Video)

Mon, 18 Jan 2010

The biggest surprise at the 2010 NAIAS was GMC's Granite concept - a design that expands (or rather contracts) the truck/crossover brand's 'professional grade' philosophy to a compact hatchback aimed at urban hipsters and early adopters. Conceived by Frank Saucedo's Advanced Design team in California and then built at GM's Design Center in Detroit, the Granite combines the basic proportions of the Nissan Cube and Scion xB with a military/industrial feel inspired by the current G-Star and Diesel fashion lines. Watch the videos to the left to see the young international design team present the rationale behind the new concept, and read our opinion of the Granite in our 2010 Detroit Auto Show Highlights.

Volvo C70 Inscription to debut at L.A. Motor Show

Tue, 08 Nov 2011

Volvo C70 Inscription We know that the Volvo C70 – Volvo’s four-seat, tin-top convertible – is not long for this world, so perhaps the news that there’s to be a limited edition C70 – the C70 Inscription – bowing in at the LA Motor Show is the C70′s swansong. Volvo are keen to point out that the C70 was the world’s first four seat convertible with a three piece folding metal roof as standard, which made the C70 a proper all year round convertible; open-topped motoring when the weather permits, and all the joys of a coupe when the skies darken. The C70 Inscription is to be limited to just 2,000 cars worldwide, and you can grab one of those coming to the UK from £33,855 for the D3 SE Inscription.
