Motor Meister has lead the way in modifying the 996 and Boxster motors in up-grading the original 3.2’s and 3.4’s into 3.8 and 4.0 Big Bore conversions go here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J8dJdwojcU8 and with the increase in horse power gains we needed stronger and durable Porsche 996 transmissions since we have seen the problems with factory 996 transmissions premature main and pinion shaft bearing failures which causes many other problems and 2nd gear shifting being one of them.

Porsche’s factory replacement transmissions and other Porsche transmission rebuilders use the exact same bearings, the exact same parts and the exact same building methods, which means you are back in the EXACT same place and heading for 2nd or even a 3rd transmission replacement!

When your 996 transmission starts to grind in 2nd gear or start to make noise you have to make the decision of the following choices:

1. Take your Porsche 996 to the dealer, dealer replacement over $8000 to $12,000 including removal or installation and wind up with the exact same transmission that will go out again because of the lack of lubrication to the bearings, since nothing has been upgraded just.........the same problem.

Or

2. Take your Porsche 996 to your local service shop, which will locate one at a wrecking yard and install a 50,000 to 100,000 mile used transmission that will have the exact same wear as what you took out because of the lack of lubrication to the bearings or worse hit so hard that there are all kinds of other problems and which could be worse then just ...................the same same problem.

Or

3. Have it rebuilt the exact same way, with the exact same replacement parts and have the EXACT same problem again in time winding up .........with the same problem.

Or

4. Sell your Porsche 996 with a bad transmission, price will need to be severely dropped and wind up buying that Aerostar Mini Van your wife and kids want you to buy or worse a late model CORVETTE!!!

Or

5. Let us rebuild your 996 transmission and Up-Grade it, to bring back the confidence in quality which is why you first purchased your Porsche 996!

Our Many Different 996 Transmission Customers!

mrrichardson.jpg Mr RICHARDSON Porsche 996 transmission picture by motormeisterinc mrllyod.jpg Mr Lloyd Porsche 996 transmission picture by motormeisterinc

Mr. Richardson from Manhattan Beach, CA

Transaxle replaced at 24,618, 28,904 & went out a 3rd time at 62,939 miles!

Mr. Lloyd from Beverly Hills, CA

Transaxle replaced at 1,320, 30,429 & went out a 3rd time at 62,859 miles!

Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice shame on me, fool me three times divorce is next!

We have many Porsche 996 owner’s who are now on their 2nd transmission replacement from the dealer, with the same exact problem. We had “Mr. Lloyd” and Mr Richardson who actually on their third 996 transmission's with both under 63,000 miles! This is why BEWARE of used transmissions even if they only have 50,000 to 100,000 miles. Now, we are rebuilding and correcting it the right way go!

Trade used for used or worse hidden damage

We handle the Porsche 996 owner who took his 996 to his local service shop and the service manager wants to remove the original 996 transmission and trade it for another used 996 transmission from a wrecking yard, which is a quick and easy and bluntly no responsibility on the service shop since a used transmission warranty is put it in and if it works great if not remove it and send it back.

Well, look at your mileage you already have a “used transmission” and its usually under 100,000 miles why buy another used transmission that will have the exact same problem, lot of work to remove and replace to be right back in for the same problem only one that has gained anything is the service manager who gets paid twice!

Transmission from a wreck? What does that mean? The vehicle was hit so hard or damaged so badly the car was unable to be fixed, which means 80% of the time on regards to a Porsche that means it was hit hard from behind or the rear section since the drive train is in the rear and they do not want to go thru the body repair and the transmission or motor may have looked fine but is internally damaged.

  • If hit in the rear, center part of the motor facing the rear is the crankshaft pulley, which connects to the crankshaft that rides on the shaft of the transmission.
  • If hit on the right or left side tire, it is connected to the axel which is connected to the differential of the transmission.

The above transmission shows severe damage from being hit so hard it broke the front bell housing that attaches to the motor and nose cone that attaches to the chassis, but the insides area stayed visually fine, when opened it was damaged from the force of the impact and moved both shafts alignments.

Service shop shipped in for rebuilding from Naples Florida.
Your typical ½ apart and um, now what do we do?

All tore down and no where to go

We have many Porsche service shops start tearing down the 996 transmission only to learn, they are way in over their head and cannot even separate the gears from the pinion and main shaft as they have done for all other Porsche transmissions? Or they need parts and only recently has Porsche started selling replacement parts since the Porsche Dealer only offer a complete replacement and no rebuilding services on the Porsche transmission. If your transmission is ½ tore down to completely tore down broken, no problem contact us and we will pick it up in all US States since we have the inventory new – rebuilt - used and most important the UP-GRADE knowledge for your transmission will not have the premature bearing failure again.

The next presidential limousine might look like this

Tue, 18 Mar 2014

A few days ago, the United States Secret Service posted the bid requirements for a new presidential limousine, which is set to debut during the 2017 inauguration of our nation's 45th chief executive. It's hard to believe that the General Motors-built Cadillac dubbed "The Beast" is already due for replacement, but the fleet of presidential limousines is cycled every four or eight years, with bids accepted from any American automaker. We'll spoil the show for you: the odds of a company other than General Motors winning the bid is pretty slim.

Volkswagen Golf R 400 Concept with 395bhp heading for Beijing

Thu, 17 Apr 2014

The VW Golf R 400 can hit 62mph in 3.9 seconds Volkswagen usually reserve their extreme concepts for the Worthersee Show, but they’re heading to next week’s Beijing Motor Show with a very extreme Golf R. The VW Golf R 400 Concept takes the regular Golf R – perhaps the most ‘grown-up’ hot hatch you can buy – and not only adds more power but extreme styling too. That means the 2.0 litre turbo 4-cylinder engine in the Golf R being crankes up to deliver 395bhp (400PS) which cuts the 0-62mph time by a full second over the production Golf R with the DSG ‘box to a supercar-bashing 3.9 seconds.

Pontiac Vibe

Tue, 13 Nov 2007

One week after Toyota introduced its new Matrix at the SEMA show in Las Vegas, Pontiac presented the new redesigned Vibe at the LA Auto Show, a five-door hatchback short wagon that - like the Matrix - is derived from a lengthened and widened Corolla platform. Clear brand differentiation between the two cars is done through the styling of the Vibe's excusive sheet metal and different interior finishes and trim. To better relate the Vibe to the Pontiac Solstice or G8, designers wanted to express more muscle and leave behind last generation's "mini-SUV" look.
