Tanner Foust jumps a Hot Wheels truck to new record at Indy

Before the Indianapolis 500 on Sunday, Team Hot Wheels yellow driver and three-time X Games gold medalist Tanner Foust broke the world record for distance jump in a four-wheeled vehicle. Foust dropped 10 stories down a life-size version of the iconic orange toy track and soared 332 feet through the air. Foust then unmasked himself--his identity had been a mystery up to that point, as shown in the teaser video we posted earlier this month.

As one judge, Geert Jan Schellekens, Principal Automotive and Industrial Designer at SABIC Innovative Plastics, said; "From several hundred entries to 20 finalists in a day's time - what could have turned out to be a cumbersome process, if not a bureaucratic nightmare, actually became an intensive yet fun session with many intriguing and interesting interpretations of the contest brief - fuelling some lively discussions!" Another strong impression from judges was also of the variety of design entry and the effort that had been put into them, as Dale Harrow said: "I'm very impressed with the standard, and particularly with the diversity of entries to the contest". Derek Buckmaster,Global Market Director, Body Panels & Glazing for SABIC Innovative Plastics, said: "I was surprised by the depth of thought which the entrants had put into their designs to meet the diverse needs of the three 'milenniumites' described in the design brief. The designs displayed numerous approaches to meeting the environmentally-friendly and light-weight goals." The newly restored 1912 Silver Ghost Throne car One of the first Rolls Royce in India – the Nizam of Hyderabad’s 1912 Rolls Royce Silver Ghost Throne car – has been restored to its original glory. In 1911 the 6th Nizam of Hyderabad – Mehboob Ali Khan - ordered a Rolls Royce Silver Ghost, and had it sent off to Bakers of Edinburgh to create a very special body, fit for Nizam (think Maharajah, the generic term for Indian Royalty). The brief was to create a body that would be a throne on wheels, and Bakers duly obliged creating a Silver Ghost with rich yellow paintwork, a silver domed roof, gold mountings and fittings and an interior trimmed with silk and brocade.
