Wed, 20 Nov 2013

Nissan is all about Nismo, that sweet, sweet, NIssan MOtorsports NISMO. Case in point: the GTR Nismo that was at Tokyo. But on a smaller scale, the Nissan Juke Nismo gets some more letters, and it's the return of the fun-to-drive Sentra.

Rolls Royce sponsors Bloodhound 1000mph World Speed Record attempt

Tue, 14 May 2013

(adsbygoogle=window.adsbygoogle||[]).push({});The last time we had news about a sponsor for the Bloodhound 1000mph World Record attempt aproject, it was all about a carbon off-set company sponsoring the project with off-set credits so the speed record project could claim to be carbon neutral. This time, it’s something of proper value to the project. Rolls Royce – the plane people, not the car people – are supplying their EJ200 jet engine from the Eurofighter Typhoon – and technical support – which will be bolted in Bloodhound to get it up to 350mph before a rocket engine takes over and thrusts it on past 1000mph.

McLaren P1 Track confirmed as McLaren Automotive goes in to profit

Wed, 04 Jun 2014

McLaren are building a track version of the P1 (pictured) for P1 customers only It’s only three years since McLaren Automotive entered the hugely competitive market for high-end supercars (well, it’s four years, but only three since the first 12C went to a customer), but it’s already in profit. (adsbygoogle=window.adsbygoogle||[]).push({});McLaren made an operating profit in 2013 of £12.4 million (and a pre-tax of £4.4 million) on sales of £284.4 million and did so – as predicted – by hitting their sales targets – McLaren sold 1359 12Cs and 36 of the McLaren P1 hypercar. And that looks to be just the start.
