Hamilton wins Singapore Grand Prix

Sun, 27 Sep 2009

Lewis Hamilton take victory for a resurgent McLaren at Singapore The biggest losers of the day were probably Red Bull, who failed miserably to take advantage of Button’s poor grid position (and that of Barrichello, who started in 10th after a five place penalty for a new gearbox). Vettel managed to damage his car on the kerbs and acquired a drive-through penalty after crossing the white line exiting the pits. Team mate Webber’s brakes gave up on lap 49 and he went home with nothing to show for all his efforts in Singapore.

Volvo Cars is rolling out a broad strategy aimed at reviving the brand in the United States after a decade of shrinking demand while nearly doubling sales globally. The plan, shared with U.S. dealers on Tuesday, includes new powertrains, new vehicles, more leasing and fresh marketing under a new, global ad agency.

GM Europe's location in Russelsheim, Germany is also one of the less glamourous locations but the new design center building opened this week aims to redress the otherwise rather industrial feel of the place where tomorrow's Opels and Saabs are created.
