This is an NOS (New Old Stock) Left Rear Door Lock Assembly, Rambler/AMC Part Number 3482339. According to the Rambler/AMC Parts Manual, this item fits 1966 Rambler American 4-Door Sedan and 4-Door Station Wagon Models. It cannot be seen in the picture, but the item has manufacturing and shelf handling scratches, marks and some light to some moderate shelf corrosion on its' metal surfaces. The lock assembly will also have to be cleaned and lubricated before installation onto the vehicle. The lock assembly is still in usable condition. Kia, Chrysler, VW set pace as December sales advance 9 percent

Kia, Chrysler and Volkswagen posted some of the strongest sales gains for December as the industry closed out 2011 on a high note. Automotive News estimates December volume was up 9 percent to 1.24 million from a year earlier--in line with analysts' forecasts. Total industry sales were projected at 12.78 million for the year, up from 2010's total of 11.6 million and the 27-year low of 10.4 million in 2009.

Honda Gear Concept

Rather than fighting for headlines at NAIAS, Honda debuted its new GEAR Concept at the Montreal International Auto Show. The subcompact GEAR is apparently inspired by fixed-gear bicycles (although quite how is unclear), described as a customizable vehicle that demonstrates the carmaker's way of providing vehicles for young, urban, Gen-Y lifestyles. "Subcompact cars are usually either utilitarian, but uninspiring or they're fun, zippy cars that are impractical and too expensive for the Gen-Y buyer," said Dave Marek, Design Director at Honda R&D Americas, Inc.

Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts Degree Show 2010

China's Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts held its annual degree show in the school's Art Museum recently, showcasing the works of 16 transportation design students created over the course of the four year program. Divided into two parts, students were asked to design a solution for the increasing problems caused by the rapid development of car consumption in China. The projects consisted of a partnership project with Guangzhou Automobile Group Engineering Institute (GAEI) as well as the student's individual projects.
