Jaguar reveals 'brand-new' Lightweight E-Type
Tue, 12 Aug 2014This is a brand-new Lightweight Jaguar E-Type, exactly as it would have been if it had left the Browns Lane factory gates in Coventry way back in 1963. It’s not a restoration, either, but a totally fresh, zero miles car that will make its world debut later this week at the Pebble Beach Councours d’Elegance 2014. Back in May, Jaguar announced that it would finally build the remaining six "missing" Lightweight E-Types (originally developed for racing) that it never got round to in the 60s – now they’re here.
Chris Harris finds the McLaren P1 “a whole new thing” (video)
Thu, 20 Feb 2014Chris Harris and McLaren’s Chris Goodwin in the McLaren P1 We know the McLaren P1 is exceptional, and we’ve heard almost the same ‘game changer’ dialogue from anyone who’s driven it. We’ve also seen the McLarenj P1 on the move in the recent Top Gear with Jeremy scaring himself witless in Belgium as his brain came to terms with the awesome 903bhp at the P1′s disposal on a less than forgiving Spa circuit in damp conditions. But what we have here – in case you’ve not seen it elsewhere – is a video review of the McLaren P1 from Drive’s Chris Harris, and it does the best job we’ve seen of explaining just why the P1 is so special and why it’s “…a whole new thing”.
2010 Audi A8: The Wi-Fi Hotspot
Mon, 24 May 2010The Audi A8 interior - your new Wi-Fi Hotspot We’re hoping it won’t be too long before the world becomes one giant wi-fi hotspot, although broadband providers will probably have something to say about that if every town installs a wi-fi network covering their entire area. You can already get wi-fi from tens of thousands of places round the UK – and many of them free or bundled up with your mobile bill – and soon you’ll be able to have your own WLAN in your car if you rush out and get the new Audi A8. Audi are installing a WLAN system in the 2010 A8 which will effectively create a wi-fi hotspot within the car for passengers.
