Here's a rare vintage set of nos Harley Sportster Ironhead saddlebags with brackets and way rare optional nos accessory guard kit.  Also an extra pair of lids right out of plastic and original boxes in more or less flawless condition.  Notice the mount brackets are a very rare chrome set instead of the usual cadmium plated.  Date codes in bags with scuffed and bruised lids are Sept 1970  while extra set of nos lids are a year or so later.  These are the much rarer, earlier plastic and not fiberglass items and are the "Compact" bags which are smaller than the FL ones.  I don't have the original key but I do have a key from the era but it doesn't work tho is included.  Lid latches work excellant but don't lock with the key I have.  Inside bags and lids are spotless!  Rubber sealing gaskets on all lids are as new.  Notice scuffs, bruises and scratches on the bags and the lids shown on them.  All in all, still just crazy, drop dead remarkable, fabulous  and gorgeous!! Museum candidate!!  I had these for a remarkable '68 XLH project but am selling some things to finance other Harley projects.  Please look over my other listings and watch for more as I'm parting with some really great vintage Harley stuff.

We Preview the Grand National Roadster Show

Fri, 24 Jan 2014

Every year at the Grand National Roadster Show you'll find one guy who gripes about all the multi-million-dollar cars entered in the show's premier competition category, the dozen open-topped two-seaters competing for the prestigious title of America's Most Beautiful Roadster. Well somebody find that guy and bring him by because this year there's only one – count it, one - Chip Foose-designed, Troy Trepanier-built entry. The rest are built by regular guys just like you and me.

Tata says hello with the Tata Nano Europa

Wed, 04 Mar 2009

The Tata Nano Europa - expected to come to Europe as a sub £5k car [ad#ad-1] Tata has had a pretty torrid time of late, what with problems in India and the decimation of the world car markets, which has badly affected sales of its recently acquired Land Rover and Jaguar marques. But as we reported last week, they have just landed a huge contract to supply Jaguars and Land Rovers to the Chinese, which will ease problems at JLR, and now they’re on a world-domination cheapest-car quest with the Nano Europa. The Nano Europa is the version of the little Tata that is going to be launched in Europe, and has just previewed at Geneva 2009.

Toyota files for 'Supra' trademark

Mon, 17 Feb 2014

Adding more grist to the new-Toyota-sports-car mill, the automaker has filed with the USPTO for a “Supra” trademark covering “Automobiles and structural parts thereof.” On one hand, it's routine for companies to protect their dormant trademarks; Toyota previously filed to protect the "Supra" mark back in 2010; that protection expired on January 27th of this year. The new filing was made on Feburary 10th, in the midst of the post-Detroit, FT-1 enthusiast froth. We can't help but hold out hope that there's a bit more weight behind this application than simple maintenance of the status quo.
