Book Title: How to Rebuild Honda B Series Engines

Author: Jason Siu

The first book of its kind, How to Rebuild the Honda B-Series Engine shows exactly how to rebuild the ever-popular Honda B-series engine. The book explains variations between the different B-series designations and elaborates upon the features that make this engine family such a tremendous and reliable design. Honda B-series engines are some of the most popular for enthusiasts to swap, and they came in many popular Honda and Acura models over the years, including the Civic, Integra, Accord, Prelude, CRX, del Sol, and even the CR-V.

In this special Workbench book, author Jason Siu uses more than 600 photos, charts, and illustrations to give simple step-by-step instructions on disassembly, cleaning, machining tips, pre-assembly fitting, and final assembly. This book gives considerations for both stock and performance rebuilds. It also guides you through both the easy and tricky procedures, showing you how to rebuild your engine and ensure it is working perfectly. Dealing with considerations for all B-series engines-foreign and domestic, VTEC and non-VTEC-the book also illustrates many of the wildly vast performance components, accessories, and upgrades available for B-series engines.

As with all Workbench titles, this book details and highlights special components, tools, chemicals, and other accessories needed to get the job done right, the first time. Appendices are packed full of valuable reference information, and the book includes a Work-Along-Sheet to help you record vital statistics and measurements along the way. You'll even find tips that will help you save money without compromising top-notch results.

Kia Optima T-Hybrid concept revealed ahead of Paris debut

Mon, 29 Sep 2014

Kia Optima T-Hybrid concept revealed ahead of Paris debut It looks like Kia is ready to push the start button on a new range of mild hybrids with the reveal of the Kia Optima T-Hybrid concept ahead of its debut later this week at the 2014 Paris Motor Show. The new mild hybrid powertrain isn’t going to make an enormous difference to power or economy, but in a world where taxation gets based on official CO2 figures it will make the Optima more appealing to company car buyers. The Optima hybrid gets the normal 1.7 litre diesel engine and adds a small electric motor powered by a 48V lead-carbon battery which will be enough for short running at low speeds on electric power alone or allow some electric ‘cruising’ on motorways.

Report Claims Pothole Repair Blackhole Is £12bn

Thu, 03 Apr 2014

FIGURES from the Asphalt Industry Alliance (AIA) have revealed the extent of the nation’s pothole crisis, with a report claiming the "catch-up" cost of getting roads back into reasonable a condition has soared to £12 billion. The total is an increase on the £10.5 billion figure reported last year, and remains high despite more than two million potholes being filled in England and Wales over the last 12 months. This was despite a 20% decrease in the shortfall in annual road maintenance budgets reported by local authorities, with the shortfall reducing from an average of £6.2 million to £5.1 million per authority in England.

Speading plea as fines quadruple

Wed, 11 Jun 2014

A MOTHER whose two-year-old son was one of eight people who died in a horrific road crash has spoken of the need for motorists to "break the habit of speeding to prevent more needless deaths". Tracey Mohabir's comments came as the Government announced a four-fold increase in fines available to magistrates, meaning motorway speeders could be forced to pay up to £10,000. Mrs Mohabir's son Marcus was travelling with his father Steve and two friends, Toby and Kate Beasley, when their Land Rover was hit by a speeding BMW which crashed through the central reservation on the A23 near Pycombe, Sussex, on May 16 2004.
