This is a completely rebuilt 787 RFI Rotax engine from a 2001 fuel injected Sea-doo GTX. It will work in any Sea-doo watercraft that uses this engine type. (This engine will not work in a unit that has carburetors) The engine has been rebuilt with all NEW parts. Starting with the cylinders, they have been bored oversize with new pistons and rings installed in them. The crankshaft was replaced with a rebuilt assembly using all new bearings, rods, and seals. The balance shaft had new seals and bearings installed on it, then the engine was assembled with all new seals, bearings, and gaskets. It also has the rotary valve and cover installed on it so you won't have to worry about proper valve timing. The engine was painted the factory silver color upon completion. The newer versions of this motor were painted black, and some black and grey. Either way they were painted they are all the same engine. The engine comes with the necessary gaskets to install it into your ski, as well as a new set of spark plugs. It will be shipped thru UPS and insured for the full bid amount. This auction works on an exchange basis. I do require that you send your old engine back to me as a core. With that said, I will be adding a core deposit to the final auction price. It will be $550.00. This money will be refunded to you after I receive and inspect your old engine. Any damage to the engine out of the norm will have the cost to repair/replace the damaged parts deducted from the deposit. I know the crank will be bad, and the pistons probably junk, this is normal. Holes or cracks in the cases/cylinders/head, cylinders bored to 1m.m. oversize or more, broken bolts, missing parts, things like this are not normal! If you have any questions on this feel free to e-mail me. I will not accept an SBT rebuilt engine as a core! And you must return the same engine type that you receive. I also ask that you return the core in a timely manor. You are welcome to send me your old engine first to avoid the deposit if you wish. Thanks....

New techniques cut cost of carbon fiber

Carbon fiber's cost is falling dramatically, thanks to production advances that let suppliers speed the material's finicky, and costly, curing process. Volvo confirms big production increase for V60 Plug-in Hybrid
Fri, 17 May 2013Volvo has been building around 150 V60 Plug-ins a week at its facility in Torslanda – alongside the regular V60, V70, S80 and XC90 – but that is now set to be upped to 282 cars a week for the rest of 2013, with plans to build at least 10,000 in 2014. The fact is that the V60 is a very appealing estate car already, and bolting a plug-in hybrid setup has turned it in to a big hit in showrooms because the barking mad official economy and emissions system bestows the V60 plug-in with emissions of just 48g/km, making it a real no-brainer in countries where governments blindly tax cars based on their official emissions. That means countries like Holland, where Volvo has received more than 3,000 orders for the V60 Plug-in, and the UK are lapping up the hybrid offering from Volvo as a way to escape big taxes and still have a swift (0-62mph in 6.1 seconds), appealing and stylish car.
