Opel/Vauxhall has announced a new compact SUV, the Mokka, which sits between the Nissans Juke and Qashqai in terms of size, measuring 4280mm in length. The Mokka's exterior design continues the form language of the current GM Europe range with its drawn-back lamps, tapered DLO and sculptural rocker surfacing. Unpainted lower body protection, metallic-look guards, roof bars and a high ride height iincrease its 'rugged' image.

And it looks like much the same scenario will play out with the Dacia Duster facelift – revealed today in full before Frankfurt – with it rolling out in Europe but with no immediate plans to bring it to the UK. The Tokyo Motor Show today saw VW unveil a second iteration of their new small family car – a third model will be shown at the LA Auto Show in November 2007. Called the Space Up!, the rear-engined car is a stretched version of the three-door we saw at the Frankfurt Motor Show earlier in the year.
