 RJS RACING NEW SNELL SA2015 FULL FACE SPORTSMAN HELMET MATTE BLACK SMALL KARTThis listing is for the Newest addition to the RJS Racing Equipment line of racing safety products. The RJS Pro Racing Helmet. This features, certifications and ratings of, SFI 24.1, Snell SA2015. The Pro helmet was designed by a wide range of different drivers from different venues. This lightweight and aerodynamic helmet with featured openings in the front and sides of the chin bar and scalp to allow air in and escape through the top exhaust ports for driver comfort and reducing fogging. The interior of the helmet features a plush fire retardant Nomex padding and a removable washable liner as well as a padded chin strap designed for racer comfort and proper fit. The distortion free face shield is constructed with a high grade, low fog polycarbonate with an excellent extend peripheral field of vision. In addition the shield is fitted with tear-off post and aluminum pivots with an adjustable friction lock. This helmet also supports head and neck restraint systems through its M6 ported inserts that are already blended into the helmet. Manufactured in the same facility as Bell Racing, this helmet has superior construction and affordability all woven into one safe and good looking helmet. Concept Car of the Week: BMW Turbo (1972)
Fri, 14 Feb 2014Built by Michelotti in Turin and unveiled at the 1972 Paris motor show, the BMW Turbo was built both as a symbol of the carmaker's strength after its troubles in the ‘60s and as a celebration of that summer's Olympic Games in Munich. This two-door coupe, based on a modified 2002 chassis with a mid-mounted engine, was born when BMW's design director Paul Bracq convinced the board to let him design a concept that would be part design exercise, part technology testbed. Safety had become an increasingly important consideration following a number of design summits in the early ‘70s, and Bracq used the Turbo to test out a number of safety solutions.

Whos Where: David Wilkie joins Mindset
Tue, 30 Sep 2008Design Director, David Wilkie, announced last week that he is leaving Bertone to take up a full time position at Mindset AG. Mindset is a new company run by Murat Günak, previously head of Design at Volkswagen, that is developing the electric ‘Commuter' car previewed by Car Design News in February this year. Car Design News spoke with Wilkie about the move, who explained that he'd been working for Mindset part time, leading the design of the Commuter interior for several months now, but "I decided that for the good of Bertone, and for Mindset, that I needed to commit full time to one position; and the appeal of having my hands-on as a designer was very strong; and it's a project I really want to see through properly!" Wilkie is still committed to carrying through several projects at Bertone over the next few weeks as he makes the transition to working with Günak with whom he studied at the Royal College of Art.
