Nissan aiming to build radically different 2015 Le Mans prototype

By Ben Pulman 12 December 2013 12:00 Nissan is targeting an entry into the 2015 Le Mans 24hrs with a race car that will be radically different to the LMP1 prototypes fielded by Porsche, Audi and Toyota. Nissan will compete at Le Mans in 2014 with the radical ZEOD RC, filling the ‘experimental competitor’ pit garage last used in 2012 by the Nissan-powered DeltaWing, but it wants to use that experience to build a challenger for the premier LMP1 category in 2015, one that stands out from the rest of the field. ‘We have an active programme now,’ Nissan chief planning officer Andy Palmer (pictured, right) told CAR.

Fisker delays Atlantic production start to 2014-2015

Fisker Automotive will start production of the Atlantic in late 2014 or 2015, according to a Reuters report. That's two years later than the planned production start of the midsized gasoline-electric sedan. “The Atlantic is really the volume car that begins to build growth,” Fisker CEO Tony Posawatz said during a conference call with investors and analysts.

Nissan Micra Sales fall in Europe (adsbygoogle=window.adsbygoogle||[]).push({}); Nissan trumpeted the new Micra as its ‘Global Compact Car’ in the run-up to its reveal at Geneva last year. And by ‘Global’ they meant ‘Produced in Emerging Markets’. Which is a big change from the last generation Micra which was produced in Sunderland, but a move that seemed to make sense in a world where small cars in emerging markets are a priority, and where cost of production is much lower.
