Edelbrock Corporation has six locations: four in Torrance and two in San Jacinto, California, totaling over 600,000 square feet. Headquarters include: R&D; manufacturing; tech support and more. Our Aluminum Foundry and Motorcycle Division, where we manufacture carburetors for motorcycles, is located in San Jacinto. Our sand-cast foundry has been called "the most state-of-the-art foundry west of the Mississippi." In 2007 we will be adding a new Permanent Mold and Heat Treat facility next to our existing sand cast foundry, an over 8 million dollar commitment to "Made in USA" products and performance. In October 1999, we moved our warehouse into a new Distribution Center. All shipping and receiving operations were relocated to provide room for the expansion of our cylinder head, water pump and manifold manufacturing area at the main facility. Vic's Garage is located in the Distribution Center and houses the Company's collection of street rods and classic cars, as well as our extensive collection of historic photos and archives. Please call and make an appointment if you would like to tour Vic's Garage. Russell Performance Products became part of the Edelbrock family early in 2001. They were moved to the shock facility in the spring and we are pleased to welcome the Russell employees to "The Fun Team." BMW 'Dwelling Lab' project
Tue, 11 May 2010One of the most interesting pieces of work shown at the recent Milan Design Week was 'The Dwelling Lab', collaboration between BMW, Flos Lighting and Kvadrat fabrics. Artists Patricia Urquiola and Guilio Ridolfo were commissioned to effectively turn a BMW 5 Series GT inside out. The car is 'exploded' - with five giant cone-like structures growing out of the windscreen, door openings etc.
Winners of the 2013 Michelin Design Challenge announced
Tue, 22 Jan 2013Michelin presented the three winners of the 2013 Michelin Challenge Design at its private Designers' Reception during of the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit's Renaissance Center. A jury of automotive designers and industry experts picked the winners from the 15 finalists that best explored how design contributes to and impacts the ongoing effort to develop more efficient vehicles, while keeping the emotional side of car design front of mind. This year's top three finalists are Jorge Biosca (Spain), Liu Shun (China) and Song Wei Teo (Singapore).

Fri, 07 Nov 2008By Ben Whitworth Motor Shows 07 November 2008 09:00 Volkswagen’s sobriety took a back seat at the SEMA show in Las Vegas this week – it pulled the covers off a pair of muscle-bound Passat CCs, a racy 295bhp Tiguan and a grunty diesel Jetta aimed at cajoling the American market into turning its back on gasoline. The unambiguously named Performance CC – designed by Volkswagen’s California-based design centre – gets a shot in the arm from a three-stage turbo boost to its 2.0-litre TSI engine. In Eco mode you get a modest 222bhp and 236 lb ft of torque, GT mode hikes those outputs to 252bhp and 268 lbs ft, while the Full Power stage unleashes 311bhp and 313 lb ft.
