Historic Roper steam-powered motorcycle at Las Vegas auction - Autoweek
Fri, 28 Oct 2011In September we told you about one of the world's oldest four-wheeled machines going up for auction at an RM event. In January 2012, the perfect companion piece to that $4.6 million horseless carriage is being sold--a 1894 Roper Steam-Powered Runabout motorbike. The Roper bike is the second of two built by Sylvester Roper of Roxbury, Mass., and is regarded as one of the world's oldest, predating the earliest Orient, Indian and Harley-Davidsons.
LA Motor Show: Jaguar F-Type coupe to cost £7,000 less than convertible
Fri, 22 Nov 2013JAGUAR’S stunning new F-Type coupe will cost from £51,235 when it goes on sale in the UK in the spring. The hard-top version of a car that has already taken the motoring world by storm will add a second model variant to the line-up, aimed not just at owners of the Porsche Cayman and even the 911, but also at previous owners of Jaguar’s own XK. Jaguar has used its media event at the Tokyo motor show to announce full pricing structures, with the entry-level F-Type coupe costing more than £7,000 less than the equivalent convertible.
Lamborghini LM00X SUV on the way?
Wed, 10 Nov 2010The Lamborghini Conquisto SUV Concept (by Belgian designer David Cardoso) This is an old chestnut that crops up every month or four – Lamborghini to make new SUV – probably because Lamborghini already has an SUV in its history with the frankly other-world LMoo2. Still, with Lamborghini now very much a part of the VW Group (what happened to the revival of Auto Union as a group name?) there’s starting to be more credence to the guesswork. This time it’s Auto Express doing some guesswork (industry insider said…) and they reckon that Lamborghini are going to take the underpinnings of the Porsche Cajun (which is basically the same as the Q5), shove in the new 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 currently being developed jointly by Audi and Bentley and call it the Lamborghini LM00X (or LM003 or LM004 or LM005…).
