Sabelt GT-200, Hybrid Carbon FIA Approved Race Seat, RFSEGT200M

The GT-200 seat was designed for Driver Comfort and Durability.  Thought also went into fitting the seat to street type production cars as well as full cage race cars.  Dimensions were calculated based on the room available on each cabin analyzed considering the space taken by the central tunnel, roll bars and door bars.  Multiple Shell sizes were designed for a no compromise fit between the driver and the car.  Used in Rally, road racing, Open Track, HPD, SCCA and NASA type events for most sedans and sports cars.

Besides technical innovations and new combination of materials, versatility is the key word.  You will notice the 4 shoulder harness slots.  This allows proper harness routing for shorter and taller drivers alike.
The most noticeable feature of the GT-200 seat is the opening in the back of the seat.  Those are designed for more cooling to the driver.

Currently available in Medium, Large and Extra Large.
Seats available in black.  Red may be special ordered.

Please order Sabelt Z200009 side mount brackets.  These are designed specifically for the GT-200 and GT-300 seats.   Standard universal side mounts require modifications to fit properly.

CCS - AISI project 2007

Wed, 26 Sep 2007

The college for Creative Studies (CCS) has been teaming up with the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI) since 1989, bringing together imaginative automotive design and steel, the material of choice in the industry. As did last year's program, this summer also saw three engineering students from the University of Michigan (UM) join three CCS transportation design students to develop a concept car. Revolving around an 'Inside Out' theme, students conceptualized, rendered and created a concept vehicle based on a steel exoskeleton design.

EUROPEAN UNION car sales are still sagging despite the return of modest economic growth. For the first eight months of the year, passenger car sales were down 5.2% to 7.84 million compared with the same period last year, the European Auto Manufacturers' Association said - the lowest January-August figure since the group started keeping records in 1990. New car registrations in August fell five per cent from a year ago to 653,872.
