Sam Foose-built Alfa Romeo Carabo clone for sale
Wed, 08 Feb 2012If Helen of Troy's face launched a thousand ships, Marcello Gandini's Alfa Romeo Carabo concept from 1968 most certainly launched two decades' worth of wedgy, mid-engine machines, a number of them penned by Gandini himself during his tenure at Bertone. This car, however, is not that car. This one was built in California, by legendary car builder (and father of Chip) Sam Foose back in 1972.
Cadillac CTS Sport Wagon and SRX (2009): first pictures
Fri, 15 Aug 2008By Ben Whitworth First Official Pictures 15 August 2008 10:27 Against the backdrop of this year’s Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance in California, Cadillac has pulled the wraps off two bold new models – its CTS Sport Wagon and the CRX crossover. It’s the work of Cadillac’s global design director Clay Dean, and we reckon his team has done a pretty good job of incorporating the company’s distinctively edge look and feel with its neatly extended roofline and the way the V-shaped grille is reflected in the wedgy profile of the tailgate.
Mercedes CLS Shooting Brake Goodwood FoS debut
Mon, 28 May 2012The estate version of the Mercedes-Benz CLS – the Mercedes CLS Shooting Brake – will debut at the 2012 Goodwood Festival of Speed. The Mercedes CLS Shooting Brake – well, a concept CLS SB – bowed in at the Beijing Motor Show in 2010 and although we’ve seen it running around the roads, it’s seemed no closer to production. But it looks like Mercedes has now had long enough to play with the oxymoron that is a coupe estate and the CLS Shooting Brake will get its debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed at the end of June.
