Here is a set of gorgeous wheel covers I acquired back in the 1980s. I was at a wrecking yard in Northern California where I lived and I saw a beautiful white Rambler station wagon with a chrome roof rack sitting in an "off limits" area. It was perfect, but you weren't supposed to touch it because it was part of some stupid California program to demolish old gas guzzelers. But, this car was perfect- paint shiny, chrome shiny, perfect interior. There were several other awesome cars in similar condition parked along side, but this grabbed my attention because I LOVE station wagons.  I was able to grab these wheel covers - and pay for them as if taken off a "legitimate" car, and they have been hanging in my garage ever since.

They have NO corrosion whatsoever, The chrome is shiny. There is NO curb rash on any of them. A few have some tiny dings that came from the inside  (maybe a pebble got inside) but, there are only 2 or 3 of these dings. One cover has a tiny ding on the edge - not curb rash.

The car these were taken off of  must have been garaged and they have been hanging in a dark garage for 30 years.

2011 Mercedes CLS Leaks

Wed, 18 Aug 2010

The first official photos of the 2011 Mercedes CLS leak out The Paris Motor Show beckons, and we are thankfully going to have far more going on in the world of cars than we have for the last month or so. And today’s leak of the 2011 Mercedes CLS in all its production ready glory – well, it’s Photoshop enhanced production ready glory, anyway – is doubtless the first of the Paris leaks to come over the next month or so. Of course, this isn’t the first time we’ve seen the replacement for the Mercedes CLS.

Tue, 22 Dec 2009

By Nargess Shahmanesh Banks Motor Industry 22 December 2009 12:30 Chris Bangle is a hard act to follow, even for Chris Bangle. Like him or loath him, the former BMW design director is one of the most famous car designers of our times, recognised for shaking the established status quo with his ‘flame surfacing’ and his radical take on car design.  Then in March 2009, after 16 solid years, Bangle announced his retirement from the Bavarian brand and – seemingly – car design.

RCA students open Clerkenwell Week Design with Jaguar-inspired artwork

Tue, 21 May 2013

Two Royal College of Art students have designed a Jaguar-inspired sculpture to celebrate the opening of Clerkenwell Design Week in London. Ewan Gallimore and Claire Miller developed their idea alongside Jaguar's Advanced Design team in Whitley, Coventry, by using technologies applied in the creation of Jaguar production and concept cars. The two were the successful team from a selection of nine groups who submitted entries after Jaguar's challenge to the RCA's Vehicle Design and Textile Design departments.
