Shakespeare's Centerpin PL 259 connector means no measuring and no critical stripping of coax insulation, no fussing with the coax's braid, no soldering or "tinning." Therefore, no making a mess of it. The PL-259CPG connector (patent pending) makes just as good or better connections as solder-on ones, both to the coax's braid and to its center conductor. For either RG-58 A/U or RG-8/X coax. Gold plated brass for better performance and durability.

Just as we expected, the Porsche Panamera has turned out to be yet another cash cow for Porsche, following on from the very successful Cayenne and proving conclusively that’s it’s the passenger carrying Porsches that sell the best – and make the money. So far with the Panamera we’ve had everything from the £62k V6 Diesel through to the £102k Panamera Turbo, and we know the Panamera Diesel and the Panamera Hybrid are already in the pipeline. But now comes news of another Panamera variant – the Porsche Panamera Turbo S.

The new Vauxhall Meriva is opening up entry to the suicide door club – previously the preserve of Rolls-Royces and Mazda sports cars. Unveiled today, the new Meriva mini-MPV premieres GM’s FlexDoor technology, designed to make it easier to climb in and out. Or just show off in the car park (delete according to your personal scepticism).Although available on one side of the Mini Clubman, the Meriva promises to democratise the suicide door, with prices from around £14,000 when UK sales start in June 2010.The rear-hinged back doors open to nearly 90deg and are claimed to help ease access to the Meriva – a promise we’ll check out when we sit in it at the 2010 Geneva motor show.
