Carroll Shelby Engine Company 289 Engines, 331CI (450HP) We have modernized one of the most popular engines of all time, the 289. All of our 289 engines start with our Aluminum 289 block. Cast in California, these blocks are stronger and 20% lighter than the original cast iron blocks. They are a direct replacement for the original iron 289 and 302 engines. Very popular for the Shelby CSX 8000 Cobras, these powerful small blocks are a perfect for any restomod project.
Description: 331 cubic inches 450 horsepower and 430 lbs/ft of Torque. It starts with the Shelby Aluminum 356 T6 CNC machined 289 block etched with the Shelby logo. Shelby/AFR aluminum heads. One piece stainless steel valves 2.08/1.60. High silicone dual valve springs with 4130 steel retainers and Viton pc seals.

Volvo to trial self-driving cars on public roads

While many other carmakers – and Google – have been experimenting with this kind of autonomous driving technology, the ‘Drive Me – Self-driving cars for sustainable mobility’ project is set to see driverless cars mix with real traffic on real roads.
