DesignBoom has teamed up with Renault to create a unique design competition. With the Renault 4 entering its 50th year, the aim of the competition is to redesign and recreate the classic R4. The free-to-enter competition is open to anyone, not just design students and professionals.

Celebrating the Spirit of Ecstasy's centenary

In a bumper year of anniversaries for automotive manufacturers, Rolls-Royce is celebrating the centenary of the Spirit of Ecstasy. Quite possibly the world’s most famous automotive icon, the flying lady will be honored by renowned photographer Rankin through 100 images inspired by the figurine. Just as Charles Robinson Sykes – the man behind the original figurine – turned to his wife for the form of the Ecstasy, Rankin is using wife and model Tuuli Shipster for his work.

Peugeot Exalt to be reinvented for Paris show

Peugeot design director Gilles Vidal has confirmed to Car Design News that the Exalt concept, which debuted at the Beijing auto show earlier this year will be shown at October's Paris motor show. However, while the car shown in China featured color and trim materials specific to the region, the Exalt that will grace the show stand in France will be different. "The car was presented at the Beijing auto show, and all the materials used in this car are sourced in China or Asia," says Vidal.
