Stainless steel adjustable PPC Muffler Can

Art Nr: ROTAX E-Tec 800 -11/-16

PPC Power Can is developed and tested in our dyno lab for many hours.

The power gains come from the balance of backpressure and flow. We tuned this muffler until we gained flow and at the same time raised the backpressure.

This is not possible if the pulses from the pipe are in tune with the back pulse from the mufflers PPC cone. It’s like tuning a musical instrument. Length and pipe diameter must be exactly right to make power. The power gain on the E-Tec 800 motor with stock pipe is 5-9hp depending on adjustment of the PPC Cone (See Dyno Diagram). Throttle response and time to build power is better with the PPC Muffler. Adjustments are easy dun from the bottom of the muffler just pull the snowmobile on the side and make adjustment in the PPC cone. Sound level on WOT is higher then the stock muffler so don’t drive at WOT near buildings people or animals please. Sound at low rpms is about stock. Weight of the muffler is 5,5 Pounds

For normal riding at sea level up to 1500ft elevation Low pressure setting in the PPC cone 1500ft to 4000ft Medium Pressure 4000ft to 12000ft Max Pressure setting Over 12000Ft we have custom Cone for more backpressure.

Warning Medium Pressure can be used at sea level but only for short accelerations max 1/8Mile! Pipe pressure will rise super fast and the nock sensor will sense nock if long WOT runs are dun with Medium Pressure. And the EGT sensor will detect higher then normal temps and will start to add fuel. Then power will go down allot. Max Pressure can not be used at sea level at all.

To install the muffler can just remove the EGT sensor from the stock muffler use cupper paste on the treads. It’s important to check out the number on the muffler so the right year model muffler is used. Its one model for e-tec 800 2011 to 2012 with a longer EGT chamber and another model for 2013 to 2015 model with the shorter EGT chamber. If the wrong year muffler is used severe engine damage can accrue. So check this out first. The number is on the inside of the muffler body. It say -11/-12 for the 2011 to 2012 and -13/-15 for the newer models. If you have any questions please mail us before installing the muffler can.

Tikka PPC Sport Sound muffler will fit in the sled almost without any modifications. It will fit the stock hole in the belly pan and use the stock springs to hold the PPC Can. The band clamp will sit high in the muffler body and the welded hook will sit on the stock rubber mount on the frame. The other small hook will pull the muffler down when a stock spring is hooked up between the band clamp hook and the small loos hook so the small hook fastens in the frame under the motor and the spring pull the muffler down. Easiest is to hook the spring up to both the band clamp hook and the smaller hook and just push on a flat screw driver down on the small hook and hook it under the lower part on the frame under the engine magneto cover. The PPC Can is mounted with the stock BRP cone gasket to the pipe.

The PPC can is all stainless steel but we paint the in and out sides with ceramic high temp 700 Degr C paint. The paint is just like a powder lightly attached to the metal before heat hardened.

The paint need to cure in 200 to 350 Degr.C for about 40 Min so to get the paint to look nice drive slowly for about 20 min the let it cool down and the drive slowly for another 20 min then the paint is cured and ready for WOT. If you heat it too much right away it will burn before curing is complete and will take a gray or white colour. The paint used is  Plastic Padding Heat Proof Ceramic Paint Art Nr: 430  IDH 360373 so you know when you will re paint it in the future.

Now start testing on a lake without any thing in your way. Check out the route first so its flat and no bumps and so on. Accelerate from standing still and check the Tachometer in the beginning of the acceleration 7800-7900 Rpm for best pull. And after 70-100m rise to max 8100-8200Rpm. If Rpms clime higher put the TRA ramp angle to a lower number. Normal for stock sleds is Nr3 if revs I higher go to number 2 and test again each number down will lower shift rpm about 300Rpm.

Good luck and remember always Ride Safe and Sober!

Electric car lease deals are better than ever

Tue, 04 Jun 2013

This may be the beginning of a golden age of affordable electric cars: There are now or will soon be three electric cars available in California leasing at $199 a month, one for $249 and one for $259 a month. They are all perfectly wonderful subcompact four and five-seaters, any one of which could fit nicely into your urban or suburban lifestyle. Where else are you going to find a car for $199 a month?

Volkswagen demonstrates self-driving car

Thu, 23 Jun 2011

Flying cars might still be on the drawing board, but automakers are making progress toward futuristic advances in driving. The latest example from Volkswagen is a car that can essentially drive itself. Volkswagen presented its Temporary Auto Pilot (TAP) system this week at the European Union research project HAVEit (Highly Automated Vehicles for Intelligent Transport).
