Art Center College of Design held its annual Summer Degree show at its campus in Pasadena, California on the eve of the Pebble Beach weekend of events. Besides their main crux of thesis projects, nine graduating students in the acclaimed Transportation Design course showcased some of the designs they worked on during their internships and in previous years. We reported a while back about Rolls Royce prospering despite the credit crunch, and figures revealed today show that they continue to prosper despite the doom and gloom. When we last wrote about this back in November, we reported that Rolls Royce’s year end showed an increase of 38% year on year, with a total of 945 cars sold. Well, they’ve obviously continued in the same vein as their 2008 sales total has reached 1210, an increase of 20% over 2007.

JLR strong sales drive Tata Motors profits Jaguar Land Rover sales rose 41 per cent in the last quarter to £3.75 billion with profits of £440 million, propping up Tata’s domestic decline. When Tata bought Jaguar Land Rover from Ford back in 2008 for $2.3 billion it offered promise for the future, but most analysts thought Tata had made a big mistake buying JLR for so much, just as the world economy started to slip ion to the near depression we’re still fighting. But the analysts were wrong.
