Jaguar XKR (2011MY) Review & Road Test

Fri, 12 Nov 2010 00:00:00 -0800

A slightly mud spattered Jaguar XKR after yet another 'Brisk' country run If you choose to think about the history of Jaguar, there’s a fair chance you’ll end up thinking about the two cars that have come to epitomise all that Jaguar stood for – the 1961 Jaguar E-Type and the 1968 Jaguar XJ. If you delve further in to the mush that passes for a brain you’ll probably manage to drag up remnants of automotive lust for cars like the XK120 and XK140 or the D-Type or Jaguar SS or maybe even the Jaguar MK II. Australian Grand Prix (2014): RESULT

Sun, 16 Mar 2014 00:00:00 -0700

The 2014 Australian Grand Prix gets underway It’s all new cars for the first Grand Prix of the 2014 F1 season in Melbourne, but the expectation was that Mercedes would dominate, with Lewis Hamilton sitting on pole and Nico Rosberg sitting third, separated by Red Bull’s new boy, Daniel Ricciardo. In fact, because of engine problems, Hamilton was sidelined from the start and down to fourth by the first corner, with Rosberg making the most of his team mate’s woes and storming through to take the lead, a lead he kept until the end for a dominant win in Melbourne. Behind Hamilton, home boy Daniel Ricciardo in the Red Bull managed to make the 2014 Red Bull car look immensely promising to take second place, a welcome boost for the troubled Red Bull team, even if world champion Sebastian Vettel suffered the same fate as Hamilton, retiring with engine problems.

Chrysler 200C EV unveiled at Detroit auto show 2009

Mon, 12 Jan 2009 00:00:00 -0800

By James Foxall Motor Shows 12 January 2009 13:07 With the years of elaborate stage sets and money-burning stunts such as driving cars through plate glass windows consigned firmly to the history books, Chrysler’s 2009 Detroit Motor Show stand was a sober place to be. While Ford and General Motors executives chose largely to ignore the financial crisis and government bail outs by pretending they hadn’t happened, Chrysler president Jim Press started his presentation by cracking jokes about it. He then outlined how the company – in an aggressive restructuring programme before the credit crisis – was responding.
