Mercedes C 180 CGI BlueEFFICIENCY Review & Road Test (2010)
Sun, 15 Aug 2010The Mercedes C180 CGI BlueEFFICIENCY in for a week for Review & Road Test There was a time when you knew what lurked beneath the bonnet of a Mercedes; the badge on the boot shouted it loud and clear. If it was an S500 you knew it had a 5.0 litre engine and if it said C180 you could safely assume you’d get a modest 1.8 litre lump to row Mercedes’ smallest saloon along. The Technology Behind F1 Cars: Aerodynamics [w/Video]
Fri, 18 Oct 2013Ferrari's latest video in its ‘Discover the technology of Formula 1' YouTube series sees Scuderia Ferrari's deputy design chief Simone Resta focusing on the chassis and side pods' design and its effect on the aerodynamics. This video follows two episodes, the first of which introduced viewers to the concept of aerodynamics – which is the subject of the series' first part – while the second took a look at the design and effect of the car's front wing and nose. The great thing about this series is you don't have to be a genius – or even know your way around an F1 car – to get to grips with the concepts or terminology.
Porsche 911 50 Years Edition (2013) at Frankfurt motor show
Tue, 04 Jun 2013Here’s the inevitable special edition 911 to celebrate Porsche’s rear-engined icon’s half-century. The 911 50 Years Edition uses the Carrera 4’s 44mm-wider-than-standard body, rear-wheel drive and the Carrera S’s 395bhp 3.8-litre flat-six engine in either seven-speed manual or PDK form. In a nod to the 911’s birth year, only 1963 examples will be produced, each costing a cool £92,587 – a £10k premium over the Carrera S.
