Ian Callum’s designs have moved Jaguar from a design pastiche of the past to an individual and contemporary design language that acknowledges the past but cleverly heralds the future. And while the Excalibur's retro vibes arose from the mausoleum of the Mercedes-Benz SSK, Hemmings has discovered Brooks Stevens's other neoclassic: the Excalibur 35X, meant to look like a Bugatti Type 35. Just 27 were built in Italy on the chassis of Opel Commodores, fitted with inline-sixes.

Lamborghini Gallardos recalled for fire risk

A safety recall for 1,491 2004-2006 Gallardo coupes and spyders was handed down by Lamborghini due to a potential faulty hydraulic hose in the power steering system that could, with an ignition source, start a fire. Owners will be notified within the next month if their car is one of the potential candidates for a “Disco Inferno.”
