Solisto.extra With Vw Phaeton Cd Changer Connector & Ipod 30 Pin on 2040-parts.com
San Diego, California, United States
The Solisto Extra version provides two interfaces in one device: the flexible audio-interface of Solisto.Basic, plus an interface enabling the user to control an iPod/iPhone. This gives the user the opportunity to operate their iPod/iPhone like a CD changer, while allowing for full flexibility whenever necessary. With the help of the iPod/iPhone the Solisto emulates a CD changer with up to 6 resp. 10 virtual CD´s with up to 99 songs each at the CD changer-interface of the radio. Due to this exact emulation, CD changer-stlye handling is easy and consistent. All functions are supported: fast forward, rewind within track, random play and scan-mode. The Solisto supplies power to the iPod/iPhone (including iPhone 4[S], iPad 2) to charge the battery during use.
Controlling an iPod through the head unit is convenient and especially advisable when driving; but as this limits the number of accessible songs we have introduced the “Direct Access Mode. Direct Access Mode lets you access any song, playlist, album etc. on the iPod, using the iPod controls. To use Direct Access Mode: do not create the playlist „CD6“. Selecting this virtual CD on the head unit will then hand over control of the iPod to the iPod itself. The iPod will still obtain its power from the Solisto, but is controlled in the normal way.
The Talk Over functionality is especially aimed at connecting mobile satnavs to the Solisto. In normal operation the interfaces for iPod/iPhone and USB have a higher priority than the Aux In interface. E.g. if a USB drive is connected to the Solisto, music is played from that and not the Aux In. A new feature of the Solisto 5G is that the Aux In interrupts the music played over the iPod/iPhone or USB interface when there is an audio signal at the Aux In. After the signal is gone, the Solisto switches back to the iPod/iPhone or USB interface. Example: music is being played from the USB drive, the audio output of the satnav is connected to the Aux In of the Solisto. Whenever there is a message from the satnav, the music from the USB drive is interrupted and the message is put through to the head unit and the speakers of the car. After the end of the message, the Solisto will automatically switch back to the music on the USB drive.

Citroen Nemo Concetto concept (2007) news
Wed, 05 Dec 2007By Ben Pulman First Official Pictures 05 December 2007 17:00 There's something fishy going on here... Look beyond the cutesy paintwork for a moment and you’ll see Citroen’s new Nemo Concetto, a van-derived people carrier concept that’s based on the recently launched Nemo commercial van. The idea behind the Nemo – a three-way development with Fiat and Peugeot – is to tap into the massive European market for van-based family cars.
Big 4x4s do have a use after all!
Mon, 02 Feb 2009Well, it looks like the value of my Porsche Cayenne S may just have risen from nothing to something! The heaviest snowfall in the south east for many years has lead to chaos on our roads. Slip-sliding around has been the name of the game, with only 4 wheel drive cars being able to make progress on some of our poorly-gritted roads.
Mercedes GLA goes subterranean
Mon, 31 Mar 2014FOR SUV owners looking to test their cars’ off-road credentials, the obvious place to put them to the test probably isn’t nearly 200 metres underground. But that’s exactly where the new Mercedes GLA found itself as it descended into Winsford Rock Salt Mine, 620 feet beneath the Cheshire countryside. The working mine, which supplies much of the UK’s gritting salt for wintry roads, played host to four standard (apart from extra driving lights) GLA models, which were lowered down into the mine nose first before being let loose in the 130-mile network of tunnels.
