'Car Crazy' TV host Meguiar in serious condition

A dark cloud hangs over the family of automotive enthusiasts who had enjoyed a sunny week of classic-car events on the Monterey Peninsula. AutoWeek has learned that Barry Meguiar, the self-described "car crazy" goodwill ambassador of the automotive hobby world and creator/host of the popular television show of the same, is in serious condition in the intensive care unit of Monterey Community Hospital. Details of his ailment were not released by the hospital.

We fell in love with the Speedster when Eagle created one for American doctor Rick Velaj and showed it at Salon Prive in 2009, and deeper still when Eagle revealed the Lightweight Speedster at last year’s Salon Prive, together with a set of photos of the Speedster that still adorn many a desktop at Cars UK Towers. UK sales slide continues: 'worst market for 17 years'

September is historically one of the two biggest registration months of the year, as buyers rush to snap up the autumn's new number plate – yet sales were down by a fifth last month. The Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders, which collates sales data from dealers, called it 'stormy September', as new-car registrations plummeted by 21 percent from last year's figure to 330,295.
