Trucking Company GimmicksTrucking companies have a gimmick that they charge for residential delivery. If you have a shop behind your house, it is considered a residential delivery I have customers tell me "I have trucks deliver all the time" I do not doubt that trucking companies deliver to you all the time, but by the time they add a residential charge, an appointment fee and a redelivery fee, the fees can add to over an extra $150 on top of the quote you were already given!!! Another charge the trucking companies like to charge is a redeliver charge. If the company sends a truck out to do a delivery during regular business hours and you cannot unload it. The company will charge a redelivery fee. The company paid a driver to come to your location and paid for fuel, so the company does not care If you: Went to get a pizza Long story short, if the company has to come back to deliver. The company will add a redelivery fee that You will be responsible for If you are given a shipping quote, I will honor it for 10 days. I however need to repeat myself, You are responsible for redelivery, residential or farm delivery and an appointment fee if the carrier adds thoes extra fees. The fees can add up to an extra $150. In the event a shipment cannot be deliverd or is refused. You will be responsible for ALL SHIPPING AND RETURN CHARGES!!! Spyker confirms Peking to Paris will be a V8
Thu, 23 Apr 2009Spyker confirms that the Peking Paris luxury 4x4 will be a V8 not a V12 [ad#ad-1] We brought you an exclusive the other day that Spyker will drop the planned V12 version of its uber-4×4 – The Spyker Peking-Paris D12 – in favour of a supercharged V8 – The Spyker Peking-Paris D8. But it’s always nice to have confirmation from the horses mouth and today, with a financial statement from Spyker, comes a tacit admission (or actual proof, as we like to think of it!) that our story was indeed correct. Spyker talk about the Peking-Paris in their statement, but only ever refer to it as the D8, dropping all references to the D12, which is probably as much as they’re willing to reveal until the car turns up at Frankfurt in September.
N.J. decal law upsets teens, parents
Fri, 04 Jun 2010A New Jersey law--the first of its kind in the country--requiring drivers younger than 21 to put a small red decal on their license plates has both teens and adults upset, according to a story on the Wall Street Journal Web site. When one mother took her 16-year-old to the Motor Vehicle Commission for a learner's permit, the clerk told her she needed to buy red decals for her daughter. "When hell freezes over, I'll buy those stickers," she told the Journal.
Toyota to launch its own version of OnStar
Wed, 07 Jan 2009Toyota Motor Sales said today that it is launching a telematics system similar to General Motors' OnStar that will be available on some Lexus and Toyota vehicles in late summer. At the Consumer Electrics Show today in Las Vegas, Toyota detailed its plans for the system, which has different features for each brand. On Toyota vehicles, the system will be called Safety Connect; on Lexus models it will be called Enform.
