Set to be more than twice as expensive as an entry-level S350 BlueTec, which starts at £62k, the S65 AMG borrows its powerplant from the SL65 AMG, and comes close to embarrassing the SLS supercar in a drag race. Whereas the new S63 makes do with a piffling 5.5-litre biturbo V8 developing 577bhp, the S65 squeezes in a twin-blown V12 good for 621bhp – that’s only one horse fewer than the Mercedes SLS Black Series manages.

Ferrari adds Apple executive to board

Ferrari has tapped a high-ranking Apple executive responsible for iTunes and the App Store to serve as a new member of its board. Eddy Cue has worked for Apple for 23 years and reports directly to company CEO Tim Cook. He serves as senior vice president of Internet and software activities for the Cupertino, Calif., company.

The online configurator for the new (2013) Aston Martin Vanquish has now gone live on Aston Martin’s web site. The reveal of the new Aston Martin Vanquish has only just happened, but in 2012 that’s not good enough for a supercar – you need to have a configurator to play with.
