Carmel Concours stages a strong comeback
Tue, 16 Aug 2011The Carmel Concours on the Avenue came back stronger than ever this year, with somewhere around 200 cars crammed into every nook and cranny of downtown Carmel, Calif., and a crowd many were saying was the biggest the event has ever seen. Under unusually blue skies and warm temperatures, the sunscreened faithful ogled a varied and eclectic lineup, from Ferraris and Porsches to the Ford tractor owned by Carroll Shelby's doctor. Jaguar Land Rover create 700 more jobs at new engine plant
Tue, 05 Mar 2013Jaguar Land Rover has announced that they are creating an additional 700 jobs – double the original – at their new engine plant in Wolverhampton. Back in 2011, we revealed that Jaguar Land Rover were planning a new facility on the i54 development in Wolverhampton to build engines for their cars, removing the reliance on Ford’s (excellent) engines in the process. That investment was to be £335 million with 700 new jobs created in Wolverhampton – and more than 2,000 in the supply chain – but it seems that’s not going to be enough with Jaguar Land Rover sales continuing to grow at a great rate of knots.
Speed launches Internet channel as pipeline to show more races
Thu, 13 May 2010The Speed Channel, usually relegated to the upper-hundreds on the cable-channel spectrum, is launching a new broadband channel on the Internet. Speed2 will only be available to current Speed subscribers and will have at least a dozen race series that normally don't make it to the TV channel. Subscribers of the cable channel will go through a short authentication process to access the network.
