Nice USED Pair of Studebaker Spot or Driving or Headlights, maybe even fog lights with some different lens. I believe these were originally spot or driving lights, but I don't know for sure. These assemblies include the mounting brackets. These will need to either be polished or re-chromed to suit your restoration or rod project plan. For the age of these original Studebaker lights, I would say they are nice - but remember, these are USED. These have some surface rust and pitting, but most of that I believe will polish-out with some Never-Dull or similar chrome polish.
Brand:Studebaker Warranty:No Manufacturer Part Number:???? Part Brand:Studebaker Placement on Vehicle:Left, Right, Front

Up for sale are a Good, USED Pair of Studebaker Driving or Spot Light Assemblies that I bought a while back to use on a project, going a different way. I had considered using these as headlights on my rod project - thought about rewiring into headlights - but found other lights to use instead. I really liked the rear button on the back of these light assemblies - just thought it would look cool on the front end of my rod project. One of the lens is gone, the other is still good. You might even replace both lens and make these lights into fog lights(?).  These assemblies are a left and a right side assembly - opposite brackets. These could probably be mounted either at the front of the car or truck or at the cowl or side of the door for that custom / vintage look as spot or driving lights. These will need work to be usable - at least some new wiring, bulbs and some work on the one swivel base (the light that has the good lens). I would bet these are 6 Volt lights assemblies. Still has the mounting bolt for the assembly attached along with a wire hanging out of the lower area of the assembly near the mounting nut. The good glass lens on the one assembly has the GE logo in the center of the glass. These headlight buckets are in good shape (I think) - not all dented and rusted thru - some minor dings on the trim rings and some minor rust and pitting, but I believe most of that will polish out - if you want to polish these for your project. May need some cleaning & polishing to use "as is" on your rat rod, or have the chrome pieces re-chromed. I believe these light buckets were used on Studebaker cars and/or light trucks in the late 20' thru 1950's. Please look at the pics and you decide if these will work for you. I don't see any major dents or cuts - these look good to me, especially nice considering how old these probably are. No need to have these sitting on my shelf, collecting dust. Please look at this and be sure this will work on your application or project. These are USED - I believe, I would not consider this to be show quality (as is), but still very nice and could probably be made show quality. Please be sure these will work for your application before you bid. Imprinted on the top of the buckets on these assemblies is printed "STUDEBAKER" and the one good lens itself has "GE" logo in the center.

Took some quick measurements, this light assembly is approximately 4-5/8" front to back, 5-1/4 side to side (overall) and approximately 4" of the lens is visible. Hope this helps you match this assembly with your existing assemblies or for your intended use.

Thanks for Looking.

Lorenzo Ramaciotti visits RCA for 'Two of a Kind' project

Fri, 18 Oct 2013

Lorenzo Ramaciotti, Fiat-Chrysler's head of global design, has visited the Royal College of Art as part of the Fiat ‘Two of a Kind' project explaining how Italian design has become world-famous in all fields in a talk themed ‘The Roots of Italian Car Design'. The ‘Two of a Kind' project asks four teams of four Vehicle Design students to design innovative exterior and interior proposals for how the Fiat 500 and the Panda might look in 2020, taking interactivity, digital interface, sustainability and global appeal into account. Maserati brought along a Quattroporte, a GranTurismo Sport as well as an Alfa Giulietta Sportiva to complement his talk in the hope it would encourage students to consider what the carmaker believes are the three concepts of the legacy of Italian car design: sportiness-dynamism; elegance-balance; and character-personality.
