Lamborghini ‘Super Sports Car’ teased for Frankfurt
Tue, 02 Aug 2011Lamborghini 'Super Sports Car' tease for Frankfurt 2011 (click photo for full image) Lamborghini has a long-standing promise to bring something new to every major motor show, and with Frankfurt only weeks away they are starting to tease a ‘Lamborghini Super Sports Car‘. So far all we’ve got is the image above (click it to see the whole thing) which just says “Discover a new Lamborghini super sports car at the next Frankfurt Motorshow.” So what is this new Lamborghini super sports car? Well, we doubt it will be a Lamborghini SUV Concept as we doubt even Lamborghini would consider such a vehicle a super sports car.
Lexus Hybrid sales top half a million
Sat, 22 Dec 2012Lexus has revealed that they’ve sold more than 500,000 hybrid cars, with the Rx 450h the top seller and the CT 200h catching fast. Unsurprisingly, as it was the first Lexus hybrid to be introduced in 2005, the biggest seller - accounting for half of all Lexus hybrid sales to date (259,000) – has been the RX 400h / RX 450h, but the CT 200h, which was only introduced in 2011, is catching up fast with sales to date of 122,000 to date. During the last seven years Lexus hybrid sales have risen from 26,000 to 113,000 a year and 25 per cent of those Lexus hybrid sales now happen in Europe, even though we don’t get cars like the HS 250h (56,000 sales) and the ES 300h (8,000 sales).
Bugatti Atalante sells for £3 Million
Mon, 09 Feb 2009Back at the turn of the new year, we brought you news of a Bugatti Type 57S Atalante that had been found in a barn in the North East, after the death of its owner, a Dr Harold Carr. We speculated on its price, for which estimates varied hugely, with some reports suggesting that a price up near £7 million was likely. We plumped for £3,000,000 and, probably more by luck than judgement, we were bang on the nail!
