Jaguar XF Estate Confirmed - finally We’ve been expecting Jaguar to expand the XF range by bringing to market the Jaguar XF Estate for at least the last two years. But so far they’ve resisted. Jaguar has confessed that it is their plan to expand the successful XF range by adding the new models we’ve long expected – the XF Estate, XF Coupe and XF Convertible – even if until quite recently Jaguar were privately claiming the lack of an all wheel drive platform for the XF mitigated against it.

When they were busy planning production of the Rapide the world’s economy was buoyant, credit was a piece of cake and Aston Martins were flying out of the showroom. But the new economic reality bit in 2008 and sales fell at Aston Martin, but by then the plan to get the Rapide built at Magna Steyr in Austria was unstoppable so, despite Aston Martin workers twiddling their thumbs as Magna Steyr built Rapides, there as nothing to be done.

Nissan LEAF hits 3000 sales in the UK What can probably be considered the first properly convincing electric car – the Nissan LEAF – has clocked up 3,000 sales in the UK since it was launched in 2011. In terms of overall car sale in those two years it’s an insignificant fraction, but in terms of making the electric car a viable form of transport it’s a big milestone.
