              Unused new factory surplus USA manufactured 12 volt Motorola 5000 rpm  heavy duty alternator tach. These units are in excellent  condition but were considered factory "cosmetic blems" due to stains on inside surface of glass and were purchased by a Chicago speedometer/gauge repair shop and authorized service center. Glass has been cleaned but bezel may show some insignificant bezel tool marks from procedure to clean interior glass surface. (Bezel rim tool marks hidden when installed in panel).  Model number is 12AT05  Price is for one tachometer with instructions exactly as shown in pictures. These new tachs were crated in bulk quantity for fleet/dealer distribution so individual retail packaging is not applicable  Tachs are designed to be operated from the vehicle / engine alternator (or AC generator) pulses or phase output. This tachometer works with  8, 12, 14, & 16 pole alternators of various alternator pulley to engine pulley ratios (see last pictures of instructions showing pulley ratio chart for applicable pulley ratios). Works with negative or positive ground. Back of tach housing has adjustment provision under access cover to calibrate rpm to specific pulley ratio application.  Housing diameter is 3.34". TOP GEAR fans can follow in the tyre tracks of The Stig after the BBC show's test track was added to Google Street View. The location at Dunsfold Aerodrome, Surrey, has been the venue for star guests such as Benedict Cumberbatch and Damian Lewis to drive a lap for the programme. Test driver The Stig - at the wheel of a Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Black - accompanied the Google car as it did a circuit of the 2.82km track.

Power is confirmed at 420bhp with 295lb ft peak torque available from 3000 to 7000rpm. The engine – made at the same foundry as the BMW Sauber F1 team’s V8 and derived from the same architecture as the M5 and M6 V10 – looks set to dispel any fears M purists may have had that the M3 would be transformed into a nose heavy, slow revving behemoth.
