Ted Williams (Sold by Sears) 7.5 hp Outboard Motor This is a complete motor and it runs. But one cylinder has very low compression. So I'm selling as a 'parts motor'. Might be an easy fix or it maybe on it's last days. I just don't have time to deal with it (too many Grandkids). Purchased by my father in the 1960's and well cared for. So I guess I'm the second owner. This is the short shaft version. Price is set very low because I need the space in my shop and I don't have time to part it out. You can't buy just one part for the "buy it now" price. It's a deal! The motor stand it's sitting on is NOT included. Local Pickup available or I can deliver at my convenience to a nearby location. I will ship to you but beware of E-Bay shipping estimates. I will bill you for the shipping and the cost of the crate (if any). CAR tech: who's to blame for your car's terrible fuel economy?
Mon, 12 Aug 2013In early 2013 Audi lost a case brought by the Advertising Standard Agency (ASA) because of ‘misleading’ fuel economy figures used in an advert, after a customer complained they couldn’t get anywhere near the 68mpg quoted. The court case once more exposes the yawning gap between officially sanctioned mpg figures and those experienced by owners. A recent study by the Independent Council on Clean Transportation (ICCT) looked at cars sold in the UK and Europe, and discovered the difference between official mpg figures and real-world driving had grown from 8% in 2001 to a barely believable 21% in 2011.
Detroit Autorama to host Golden Commandos and Ram Chargers drag-racing teams
Fri, 07 Mar 2014Plenty of race-car drivers and automaker executives still remember the mantra, “Win on Sunday, sell on Monday.” The Golden Commandos and Ram Chargers, two drag-racing teams that embody that motto, will make an appearance at the Detroit Autorama at Cobo Center on March 8, from 1-2 p.m. According to Chrysler, this is the only time they have appeared together since competing on the strip in the late 1960s. The Golden Commandos group was started in 1962 by Chrysler technicians, mechanics and engineers who worked in Highland Park, Mich.

But it’s not only the Karma’s gap-toothed grin that’s disappeared: its plug-in hybrid powertrain has bitten the dust, too, replaced by a GM-sourced V8 – a supercharged lump boasting 638hp and 640lb ft. Called the VL Destino, the wilder Karma will be shown at this month’s North American International Auto Show, aka the Detroit Motor Show.
