Jaguar will this summer cease production of the XK 2+2 GT car after 18 years at the top of the Coventry firm’s model range. The decision to stop making the XK comes after the hugely successful launch of the F-Type – which, say analysts, has led to a big fall in XK sales as thousands of buyers queues up to buy the F-Type. So having put things right in a big way last year, Aston Martin are not trumpeting the changes to the V8 Vantage for 2010 from the rooftops, but changes there are. The visual changes include a set of 19″, 10-spoke diamond turned alloys, kevlar and carbon fibre seats, clear tail lights (just like those on the V12 Vantage), a new set of side sills which seem to have been borrowed from the N400, and a Magnun Silver Bonnet and side strakes.

The final leg of our cross-country Corvette trip took us from Detroit to Charlevoix, Mich. -- about 45 minutes north of our birthplace, Traverse City. Aside from the drivers on I-75 in metro Detroit -- who may be the worst in the world -- and the still-intermittent audio system, the ride was pretty uneventful.
