Toyota Prius Plug-in Hybrid – details
Fri, 11 Sep 2009The Toyota Prius Plug-in Hybrid will show at Frankfurt The principle difference between the standard Prius and this new plug-in version is – you’ll never guess – that it adds the ability to charge the Prius’ batteries through a domestic outlet. The Prius can be fully recharged in around 1.5 hours, and the new lithium-ion battery pack – which replaces the old nickel-metal hydride pack in the regular Prius – is more compact and of higher output. Toyota claim that the plug-in Prius can cover round 12.5 miles on a full charge in pure ‘Electric Mode’, which is around double that of the normal Prius.
Lotus Evora & Evora S Sports Racer revealed
Thu, 20 Dec 2012Lotus has revealed a special edition of the Evora – the Evora Sports Racer – with extra kit and special colours. Available as Evora or Evora S. Lotus is not having the easiest of times of late (has Lotus ever had any easy time?) with most of the news from Hethel being about ex-CEO Dany Bahar or the will they/won’t they be sold on or closed down by new owners DRB-HiCom.
Ferrari FF: More Pictures!
Sun, 06 Feb 2011Ferrari has revealed more pictures of the FF, the shooting-brake-styled supercar set to debut at the Geneva motor show. These shots show the 651-hp, V12-powered speed demon frolicking in the snow, where it's putting Ferrari's first-ever all-wheel-drive system to good use. The four-seater replaces the venerable 612 Scaglietti and is expected to arrive in the fall.
