MINI GP II on its way (MINI GP pictured) MINI has revealed that they are planning a MINI GP II – the most powerful MINI ever – to be launched at Mini United 2012 in La Castellet in May. When the first BMW MINI was close to its sell by date, MINI churned out the most powerful MINI ever in the guise of the MINI GP. And now, with the second generation MINI nearing the end of its life, they’re about to pull the same trick with the MINI GP II.

Zonda R officially unveiled

Pagani Zonda R – Only for the track With the Zonda about to bite the dust for an all new model in 2010/2011, Zonda has officially revealed the Zonda’s swansong – the track-only Zonda R. Looking like a super-version of the Zonda F (although with only 10% of the same components) the 7.3 litre AMG engined track car produces a huge 750 bhp, with a 0-60 of 3.2 seconds and a top speed of 250mph. A complete new carbon fibre monocoque, carbon fibre intakes, a 6-speed sequential ‘box and an F1-style exhaust make this the meanest Zonda to hit the road (or the track, in this case).

The next Subaru WRX STI should look a lot like the WRX Concept (above) Subaru fans were delighted that the new Subaru WRX STI – revealed at the Detroit Auto Show in January – was actually going to make it to the UK, and at a price that isn’t too barking at £29k. But the joy that the new Scooby was heading for Subaru’s UK showrooms was tempered somewhat by its looks, looks that owed far more to the last generation WRX STI than the stunning Subaru WRX Concept we saw at the Frankfurt Motor Show last year. The WRX Concept was everything we hoped the Scooby could be, with form being allowed to come to the fore rather than being a result of function, and making the WRX far more appealing.
