VW Golf GTE: the GTI goes hybrid for Geneva Motor Show 2014

Volkswagen is pitching its brand new plug-in hybrid Golf as a hot hatch. Called the Golf GTE, it will sit in the range alongside the latest petrol-powered GTI and diesel-powered GTD models. Expect a nostalgic tear or two in eyes of older performance Vauxhall fans.

‘Big Red London Bus’ returns

The 21st Century 'Routemaster' Double-Decker Bus will be in service by 2012 I doubt we can speak for everyone who visits London. But from our perspective London is a poorer place now the iconic Routemaster red buses are relegated to the odd heritage route and pay-to-see tourist trip (and we’d have to say the same about Mercedes Taxis – nicer places to be but they don’t look right). What’s needed is a 21st century version of the Routemaster (and the Black Cab – but that’s another story).

MG5 leaks out as MG6 starts production

The MG5 - expect the real-deal to be less flowing. We’re back to the Shanghai Motor Show again, with news of what was once an iconic British Marque continuing its revival under Chinese SAIC. Ahead of an expected reveal of theGolf/Focus-sized MG5 at Shanghai later this month we’ve got sketches of what MG’s hatch will look like.
