Used car values look strong for 2014
Mon, 16 Dec 2013THE VALUE OF USED cars is set to stay strong in 2014 following a rise in values this year, according to the latest analysis of the market. The latest report by British Car Auctions shows that compared to last year, new-to-market car values are around 15% higher than this time last year while older part-exchange cars are as much as 20% higher than a year ago. Simon Henstock, BCA’s UK Operations Director commented “We have seen an upturn in the supply of dealer part-exchanges in 2013, reflecting reports that retail sales have been strong.
Official: MSN Cars helps Vauxhall set multiple world records!
Wed, 08 Jan 2014Vauxhall has become an official World Speed Record holder after the FIA and MSA confirmed an average speed of more than 125mph in its 3,000-mile 24-hour speed trial event. The news also means that MSN Cars contributor Richard Aucock has become a World Speed Record holder – he was one of the drivers in the team of 12 that piloted the two cars around Bedfordshire’s Millbrook Proving Ground late last autumn. Mon, 03 Mar 2014The 148bhp Vauxhall ADAM S debuts at Geneva The Vauxhall ADAM S heading for a debt at Geneva this week may be billed a concept, but it’s a racing certainty it will turn up in a Vauxhall showroom near you before too long. With a 1.4 litre Turbo ECOTEC engine good for 148bhp, the ADAM S promises to be properly lively around town (Vauxhall hasn’t decided how quick it is to 62mph yet) and will reach 137mph if you feel the need. Thankfully, Vauxhall has also endowed the ADAM S with a performance chassis to make the most of the extra performance and tweaked the steering for more feedback.
