New Opel/Vauxhall Astra saloon revealed – but not for the UK

The new Astra with a boot has been revealed but it’s not heading for the UK. It will, however, be offered in Germany and Spain. The hatchback has taken over the car world in recent years when it comes to family cars (although we could see the crossover / compact SUV supplant it before long), which has meant the demise of the traditional saloon, certainly in the UK market.

College Exhibition: Art Center Summer Show 2011 - Non-thesis work

Art Center College of Design held its annual Summer Degree show at its campus in Pasadena, California on the eve of the Pebble Beach weekend of events. Besides their main crux of thesis projects, nine graduating students in the acclaimed Transportation Design course showcased some of the designs they worked on during their internships and in previous years. From child seats to torches, the range is designed to make the life of your average Bentley owner just that little bit more comfortable. Perhaps, but having spent £150,000 on 200mph of GT pleasure, you are unlikely to fit a Halfords booster seat. The hand-stitched child seat - for 'the company’s smallest enthusiasts' - is made to match mum or dad's car with the same leather and piping, and can feature the child's name embroidered on the back beneath the Bentley wings, if Sir or Madam wishes.
