New Mercedes S Class to use Maybach badge on top models?

Wed, 23 Oct 2013

Will the top-end Mercedes S-Class models get the Maybach badge? (S63 AMG pictured) Having tried to bring the Maybach badge back from the history books and build a car to compete with Rolls Royce, Mercedes finally admitted it hadn’t worked last year and called time on their Maybach adventure. Porsche Cayenne S Diesel (2012) first pictures

Wed, 12 Sep 2012

Porsche has equipped its Cayenne SUV with a twin-turbo diesel engine, creating (no surprises here) the Cayenne S diesel. The 4.2-litre bi-turbo oil-burner puts out 376bhp and a rather wholesome 626lb ft of torque. That latter figures bests even the flagship petrol Cayenne Turbo: that car's twin-blown petrol V8 produces 'only' 516lb ft - and costs around £28k more than the Cayenne S Diesel.

Alfa Romeo 8C based Disco Volante by Touring makes limited production

Mon, 16 Sep 2013

The Alfa Romeo Disco Volante (pictured) is going in to limited production The Alfa Romeo 8C is a beautiful – if flawed – supercar from Alfa, made even more individual by by Carrozzeria Touring Superleggera with their Alfa Disco Volante Concept in 2012. That Concept – which arrived at the Geneva Motor Show in 2012 – has now been updated for 2013 and is being put in to limited production for those with deep pockets to indulge in an Alfa even more rare than the 8C itself. The Disco Volante pays homage to the 1952 Alfa Romeo Disco Volante – based on the Alfa 1900 – and is built from aluminium and carbon fibre to keep weight in check, although under the skin remains pretty much Alfa 8C.
