Here is a vintage Stewart Warner tach and vacuum gauge combo. Model # is 760 C. This is a 6 volt tach. I did find a 1958 Stewart Warner tach booklet on the internet and this is where this info came from. Tach  face is 4 1/2 inches in diameter and  complete unit is 4 55/64 inches long. This has the curved glass lens and mounting strap. Face graphics are in excellent shape with no fading. There is some paint loss on the needles. The engine hour numbers look a little darker than the larger numbers on the face. Needle bounces freely.. The connector is still attached for the vacuum gauge. The cable is still soft and plyable with no cracking and end connector is still present. There is a spot in the cable that has been taped. I have not tested this tach since I don't have anything this vintage to test it on. This tach does need a sender which I have in another auction. Last picture shows the sender hooked to the tach. LAST PICTURE IS ONLY FOR DISPLAY PURPOSES. SENDER IS IN ANOTHER AUCTION.

Aston Martin & Mercedes join forces

Wed, 30 Mar 2011

Aston Martin Production will soon see an injection of Mercedes DNA This isn’t the first time we’ve talked about a partnership between Aston Martin and Mercedes, but according to Car & Driver it’s now just about a done deal. As long ago as March 2009 we reported that Mercedes supplied the basis for the Lagonda SUV Concept (a Mercedes GL), and six months later we reported that Aston Martin were working on a Mercedes S-Class based Lagonda saloon. More recently we reported that the GL-based Lagonda SUV was back on and that Mercedes wanted Aston Martin to put together the next generation of Maybach.

Subaru XV gets a price cut – down by £1300 on 1.6 litre versions

Sat, 18 May 2013

It wasn’t a bad starting point for an able mid-sized crossover – a high-riding Impreza, in all but name –  but it wasn’t the cheapest offering in the class. But now, with the Yen being a bit kinder to Japanese car makers, Subaru has decided to nudge the price a bit lower to start the XV range off below £20k for the first time. The price drop for the XV only applies to the 1.6 litre petrol versions, but you can now get the entry-level XV 1.6i S for a more affordable £19,995 rising to £23,415 for the XV 1.6i SE with the Lineartronic gearbox, reductions across the range of £1300.

BMW M4 Convertible revealed. Price from £60,730

Fri, 04 Apr 2014

The BMW M4 Convertible (pictured) revealed We reported last month that the new BMW M4 Convertible would debut at this year’s New York Auto Show, and here it is ahead of that debut complete with trick folding metal roof, 425bhp and a price tag that just nicks over the £60k line. A direct replacement for the old M3 Convertible, the M4 Convertible will cost you just over £4k more than the M4 Coupe, but for the extra money you get the same car but with infinite headroom – and a big weight penalty. The new 3-piece metal folding roof can be tucked away in a mere 20 seconds at the flick of a switch, with better noise insulation than the M3 Convertible had and more room in the boot when the roof is down too.
